IAG is the parent company of a general insurance group with controlled operations in New Zealand, Australia and Asia.

Its businesses underwrite more than $12 billion of premium per annum, selling insurance under many leading brands, including: NZI, State, AMI and Lumley Insurance (New Zealand); NRMA Insurance, CGU, SGIO, SGIC, Swann Insurance and WFI (Australia).

IAG also has interests in general insurance joint ventures in Malaysia and India. IAG recently sold its Thai and Indonesian businesses to Japanese insurer Tokio Marine and Nichido Fire for approximately $560 million. It has also reached agreement to sell its stake in Vietnam’s AAA Insurance.
