This afternoon’s 6.3 magnitude earthquake means Canterbury’s first priority is ensuring family, friends and colleagues are safe and accounted for.

IAG’s New Zealand chief executive officer, Jacki Johnson, said IAG was fully operational and able to assist customers with all queries.

“Our thoughts are with Canterbury right now and in particular, with those who have been seriously impacted.

We are ensuring our own team are safe and while we have closed a number of branches and our operational centre in Show Place as a precautionary measure until safety assessments can be made, customers can still contact us.
